This past weekend, Mestizo Bar and Cuisine became the heart of Latin celebration in Sydney as we hosted a vibrant and unforgettable event in honour of Colombian Independence Day 🇨🇴.

Held at our venue in Glebe, the celebration brought together Colombians, Latinos, and locals alike to experience the sounds, flavours, and spirit of Colombia — right here in the heart of the city.

We were proud to feature a lineup of Colombian DJs based in Australia, who lit up the night with rhythms ranging from vallenato and cumbia to reggaetón, salsa, and modern Latin beats.

To mark the occasion, our kitchen served a special Colombian menu crafted just for the event. Guests enjoyed classic dishes like:

Arepas con queso
Empanadas Colombianas
Bandejita paisa (mini version)
Patacones with hogao
Aguardiente-inspired cocktails and tropical drinks
